Chelsea are without their main sponsor for the time being following the suspension of cooperation with Three. Thomas Tuchel suggested something to replace it.
Chelsea will be without a chest sponsor for a while, after Three’s decision to suspend cooperation. That was after the British government froze the assets of Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich.
Abramovich is known as a close person to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin made the world go round after ordering the invasion of Ukraine.
The invasion triggered global pressure, particularly western countries, on Russia, which was manifested in economic sanctions. This issue also forced Roman Abramovich to sell Chelsea.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel suggested that the blank space on the shirt be replaced with a message of peace. However, it could be considered as a political message that violates FIFA rules.
“We can always wear T-shirts with a message for peace. It’s never a wrong message,” said Thomas Tuchel Metro.
“When there’s a big storm, you hold on, hold on to each other, you brace yourself, and get through it. But a message for peace can never go wrong.”
