Price lost his top spot in the world rankings to world champion Peter Wright this week. ‘The Iceman’ would have liked to have answered with the arrows, but had to give up. As a result, Joe Cullen is immediately sure of a place in the semi-finals in Brighton.

Price is also dropping next weekend’s German Darts Championship. That will cost him some British pounds in the world rankings as he made it to the second round of the European Tour two years ago. Although Price does not have to fear a fall as he and Wright have a huge lead over the rest.

World champion Peter Wright will be seen in Brighton on Thursday, and therefore also next weekend. Even though the Scotsman is struggling with gallstones, which made him miss an egg after the UK Open.

“I was in the room an hour before my first match, but I couldn’t even stand up,” said ‘Snakebite’ in an interview with Oche180. “The organization then gave me a painkiller and then it was better for a while, but the pain kept coming back. So it was impossible to fully concentrate on darts. In the past I have followed a special diet and have started to eat much healthier. It worked then, so I hope it works now as there is no time to have the gallstones removed because of such a busy schedule.”
