His brother found him lifeless
Odalis’ lawyer Walin Batista confirmed the report in an interview with US sports broadcaster ESPN. At the time of the accident, he was alone at home. “Around 7 p.m. his brother found him dead on the terrace. We don’t yet know the cause of death, but it looks like he fell off a ladder,” his lawyer said. Odalis lived in his native country of the Dominican Republic.
Odalis played in the MLB, the top US baseball league, as a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Kansas City Royals and the Washington Nationals, among others. “Our hearts are with his family and friends. May he rest in peace,” the Nationals said. Baseball is losing one of the greats of the sport. (dark)
