The Antitrust has fined Sky for 1 million euros for misleading information on the football package

The Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) – also known as “Antitrust” – fined Sky Italia 1 million euros for misleading information on the Football package. According to the AGCM, in the spring of 2021 Sky would have erroneously hinted at its subscribers that in the 2021/2022 season they could continue to see most of the matches of the men’s Serie A football championship, as in the previous season, when in reality they do not it was like this.

Compared to last season, this year Sky only broadcasts three league games per matchday, co-exclusive with DAZN, and no longer seven. The AGCM noted that Sky would also have provided its customers “information that did not allow them to understand the actual content of the offer relating to the Sky Calcio package for the 2021/2022 season”. Sky said in a statement that it believes AGCM’s decision iunfounded and has announced that it will appeal.
