The Colombian Juan Guillermo Cuadrado and the Spanish Álvaro Morata were once again key in the match in which their Juventus team defeated Sampdoria on Friday (1-3).
The victory brings them closer to the fight for the ‘Scudetto’ and puts pressure on the components of the head of the Italian league, no margin of errorin the twenty-ninth round of Serie A.
Juventus still doesn’t shine, but gets the games ahead. At the moment the Turin team has eleven games in a row without defeat in all competitions and fifteen in Serie A.
The Italian Massimiliano Allegri rested the serb Dusan Vlahovic, thinking about the Champions League match against Villarreal next Wednesday, and trusted the duo formed by the Italian Moise Kean and Morata. And it worked.
The Spanish striker found himself comfortable “bodying” and going down to receive the center of the field.
The first goal, in fact, came after a great start by Morata with the ball under control and a center by Colombian Cuadrado, which the defender was unable to clear.
When the match was half an hour old, the referee signaled a penalty on Kean and it was the Juventus ‘9’ who took responsibility from eleven metres, defining with power to make it 0-2.
Already with Vlahovic on the pitch, the game, despite seeming on track, was about to get complicated for the visitors with a penalty caused by the French Adrian Rabiot, but the polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny he put out his hand to stop the shot.
However, he could do little in the 83rd minute when the barrier deflected the free kick taken by the German Abdelhamid Sabiri, who slipped into the goal and gave the locals hope.
But Morata appeared again, this time with a header two minutes after conceding the goal, to secure the three points and reduce, for the moment, the distance with the Serie A leader.
With this victory, ‘Juve’ remains fourth -settled in Champions League positions- one point behind Naples, two behind Inter and four behind Milan in the absence of their matches this day; while Sampdoria continues with its losing streak (three losses in a row) and is dangerously close to relegation.
