Demonstrations in over a dozen cities: More than 60 arrests in new protests in Russia

According to civil rights activists, more than 60 people across the country have been arrested during new demonstrations against the war in Ukraine. The arrests were made during protests in 14 cities, the organization Owd-Info announced on Sunday afternoon.

This number is expected to continue increasing throughout the day. There were actions, for example, in Vladivostok in the far east of Russia and in Irkutsk on Lake Baikal and in the Siberian city of Tomsk.

Pictures and videos on social networks showed how people were dragged away by police officers wearing hard hats and heavy equipment. In For example, Nizhny Novgorod, a major city about 400 kilometers from Moscow, arrested a woman holding up a blank sheet of paper. A video of the arrest was posted on Twitter.
