Paul Timrot has had a regimental adventure with Ukrainian zaps over the years, while Intars Pavlovich, the host of the ZAZ club, is in charge of renovating many legendary vehicles.
The Latvian ZAZ Club currently unites 85 members, most of whom are owners of several ZAZs. Intars himself has helped arrange many Zaporozhye cars and has recently returned from another trip to Ukraine alone at the wheel of his zapina. Intars measured the route from Tukums to Lviv in February this year in 18 hours. He knows that it is possible to drive up to 350 kilometers with one lighthouse, developing up to 70-80 kilometers per hour. In addition, the zapine is a reliable vehicle even on the roads of the Carpathians, which can otherwise be beaten by a horse-drawn carriage.
In preparation for the trip, Intars installed a diesel stove in his car for safety and the trip was generally without significant technical problems. We will find out in the new show why driving with a soap is a real pleasure and how much such a car costs in the Latvian market.
