Without counting the Swiss Cup, the Nyonnais remained on five defeats in a row in the SB League. This nasty series ended on Saturday against Monthey (88-84).
Relief at the Rock. BBC Nyon, which had not won an SB League match since January 22 – already against BBC Monthey – and therefore remained on five consecutive defeats in the league, put an end to its black series on Saturday, by disposing for the fourth time in the Valaisans season (88-84).
crazy address
Since he got his top scorer jersey back, it’s as if Maleye N’Doye had found a good dose of his legendary address. Untenable at the low post at the start of the game (9 points), the leader of the Côte formation however suffered his 2nd personal foul after 7 minutes. The work of Montheysan Dikembe Dikson, who attacked him perfectly, before catching fire at the end of the chain of the Chablais attack by scoring four winning shots out of five attempted (!) during the 1st quarter (19-21 ).
Like its American player, the BBC Monthey had an incandescent long-range address in the first half with a 10/15 behind the arc! From the height of his 19 years, Jamal George also shot three arrows at 3 points but when he reached the locker room, Patrick Pembele’s team had not managed to widen the gap (40-40). All while Maleye N’Doye was nailed to the Nyon bench with his three faults and Jérémy Jaunin was relatively discreet, for once.
Umipig, 28 points
Inevitably, Monthey could not continue at this pace in terms of address and as soon as she abandoned it a little, at the start of the 2nd half, BBC Nyon took control of the match thanks to a nice passage from his winger Jöel Wolfisberg (54-43). Kept at a distance for several minutes, the visitors thought they could get back into the game after a distant shot from Maxime Rentsch (68-62). But after Nyon coach Stefan Ivanovic’s time out, his new American player Isiah Umipig, 28 points for his first in Switzerland, found his sights on the Valais area. Before Maleye N’Doye gives an almost definitive advantage to his team in the last minutes (83-75).

After three straight victories in the Swiss Basketball League, the Geneva Lions lost on their floor against Swiss Central (59-64). 4th, Andrej Stimac’s players present a barely positive balance sheet (11-9) and were not reassured 3 days before their trip to the undisputed leader, Friborg Olympic, author of a new card at Boncourt (105- 59). The triple defending champion notably led 28-5 after 10 minutes and now has 19 wins, for only one loss.
