NFL transactions: Patriots farewell – Johnson becomes a free agent

Will the New England Patriots and Germany fullback Jakob Johnson part ways next season? At the moment there isn’t much to be said for it. As NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday, the franchise will not tender to the native of Stuttgart. This makes Johnson an unrestricted free agent and, starting Monday, he can freely negotiate a contract with any other team; the Patriots no longer have any rights to him. “That’s exactly why I have a great agent. He takes care of it,” Johnson said recently about his future.
