The Brest coach commented on his team’s (heavy) defeat against OM on Sunday evening (1-4).
Michel Der Zakarian (Brest coach, beaten 4-1 by Marseille ) : «We said to attack hard but we didn’t know how to put the right ingredients in the duels… The opponent created situations easily, especially since they have good players and a good team. We made too many defensive mistakes. We are not looking for excuses with absences, we have a workforce, when players are not there it is up to others to respond.
We weren’t good at the start of the game. On the first goal, we are late from start to finish. Then we had one or two situations but they were much better than us, there is no comparison. They confiscated the ball. We scratched a few but not enough, and then behind we have to hold the charge, win attacking duels, have technical accuracy, we missed that too. It’s hard when you’re behind from the start. We don’t have a team to press high and long. It’s complicated, it requires a very high expenditure of energy».
