NBA: Kevin Durant dominates the Knicks with 53 points

Kevin Durant took charge of the New York Knicks with 53 points to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a 110-107 victory on Sunday.

With less than a minute to go, KD broke a 103-103 tie with a field goal from downtown. He went on to score his team’s final four points to close out the day with a total of 53 points.

Durant made 19 of 37 shots in the game and also had nine assists. Andre Drummond was the Nets’ other most productive player with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Durant was, however, questioned after the game about the situation surrounding his teammate Kyrie Irving. Due to his vaccination status, Irving cannot play games in New York City arenas. However, new measures from Mayor Eric Adams ensure that spectators can enter the building even if they are not vaccinated.

However, this measure does not yet allow employees to take part in their activities, which explains why Irving was at the Barclays Center as a spectator for this match, but he was not on the field with his teammates.

Durant commented on the record:

“It’s ridiculous… Looks like someone is just trying to make their point or show their authority right now.” That’s what I feel like the mayor wants right now…attention,” Durant said.

The production was much more balanced at the Knicks. Julius Randle led with 26 points, one more than Evan Fournier. RJ Barrett finished the game with 24 points.

LeBron’s 10,000th pass in a stinging backhand

LeBron James hit the NBA milestone of 10,000 assists in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 140-111 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

King James led the team with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists, without having played in the fourth quarter.

He is the only player in NBA history with at least 30,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 10,000 assists.

The Lakers suffered their 10th straight loss on the road.

On the other side, Devin Booker had 30 points and 10 assists in addition to 4 steals to bring the Suns’ record to 54-14.

Deandre Ayton added 23 points and 16 rebounds, and Mikal Bridges contributed 18 points.

Mavs spoil Kevin Garnett ceremony

Spencer Dinwiddie hit the game-winning three-point shot with 9 seconds left as the Dallas Mavericks beat the Boston Celtics 95-92.

At the same time, they spoiled the special day for Kevin Garnett, whose No. 5 jersey was to be retired by the Celtics after the match.

Luka Doncic left the field in the first quarter rubbing his left leg. He returned to the game and finished with 26 points, including the long tying basket at 1 min 21 from the end.

Jayson Tatum missed a desperate 3-point shot as the siren sounded. He finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

The Mavs won their seventh game in eight outings and ended Boston’s five-game winning streak.
