Confirmed the countries that will replace Russia and Belarus in the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup

As announced a few days ago, Russia and Belarus will not be able to compete this year in the two most important tournaments run by the ITF: the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup. We only needed to know which countries would benefit from these casualties, information that was released this morning.

  • Davis Cup: Serbia, who had received a WC for the Final Phase, takes the place of Russia and releases that invitation for one of the teams that lost in the Qualifiers from March 4-5. That invitation will be released soon. For its part, Mexico had to face Belarus in the World Group playoff, so it receives a W/O and goes directly to the World Group.
  • Billie Jean King Cup: Australia will take the place of Russia in the Final Phase. Slovakia, who had to face the Oceanic team in their next tie, receives a W/O and also goes directly to the Final Phase. There will also be Belgium, who will not face Belarus either in the Qualifiers and advance via a W/O to the top bracket.
