A BOLA – Football Manager announces changes due to the invasion of Ukraine (Games)

Similar to what has been happening in other video games, Football Manager announced, this Thursday, changes to the database due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The famous football simulator tried to replicate the sanctions that were applied by FIFA and UEFA, with the only exception being that the Ukrainian championship continues to be played, contrary to what happens in real life.

Thus, Russian clubs will no longer participate in European competitions and national teams are excluded from all international tournaments, as well as private matches. In addition, Ukrainian players will be considered community members for the purposes of registration for three years (this replicates the European Union’s decision to allow war refugees to work for three years without a visa). In addition, sanctions to clubs will also be applied, and if the club has already publicly announced the sale (cases of Chelsea and Vitesse), the deal takes place at the beginning of each career, and the sponsors will also be changed.

Through a note on the official website, Football Manager explains that these changes will only apply to careers started after use. In the ongoing ones, users will only notice that Russian and Belarusian teams will play continental competitions on neutral ground.
