Pony Baseball 2022 National Tournament Begins

Santo Domingo, RD.- With a total of 50 teams classified in the qualifiers, La Pony Béisbol Dominicana and the Organizing Committee opened the 2022 Pony Baseball National Tournament yesterday. Eugenio Báez, president of Pony Béisbol in the country, during the ceremony The opening ceremony offered all the details of the development of this tournament, and highlighted that the games will be in Santo Domingo and Yaguate baseball complexes. “This activity involves children and young people from all over the country, who participated in a qualifying process that resulted in these 50 teams that are already winners, for being among the best,” he said. He also detailed that the games will be held on weekends so that the children can attend their schools in the proper way, since the education of children is the most important value that this institution preaches. On his side, the president of the Organizing Committee and also National Baseball Commissioner, Junior Noboa, expressed his satisfaction at starting this activity, which he considered to be the largest little league tournament in the country and the entire region. “More than 1,200 children and young people from all over the country participate in this tournament, who have the opportunity to play good baseball and have an unforgettable experience,” he motivated. He also added that his experience as a former professional baseball player reveals that children’s tournaments contribute to the motivation in the development of the lives of the young people who participate. Noboa invited parents to take their children to witness the games that will take place in the tournament, since it is an accessible activity for the whole family and that arouses passions for this sport. Of these 50 participating teams, each one participates in the 5 categories of 7/8 years, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14 and 15/16 years. The winners of the 2022 Pony Baseball National Tournament will have the opportunity to participate in the 2022 Pony Caribbean Series and the World Tournament that takes place in the United States.
