Masters Tournament: Woods makes the suspense last

More than a year after a violent road accident, Tiger Woods gives hope as to a possible participation in the Masters Tournament, since he has not officially withdrawn.

The name of the 46-year-old American was indeed in the list of 85 golfers who will take part in the Grand Slam tournament on Sunday. This PGA tournament is due to start on April 7.

On February 23, 2021, Woods was however involved in a severe rollover in California. When he was alone on the road, he swerved and rolled over with his SUV. His right leg was badly damaged, but doctors were able to avoid amputation. He underwent multiple operations.

In February this year, he said he had no idea when he could return to competition. “I wish I could tell you when I play again. I want to, but I can’t,” Woods said on the sidelines of the Genesis Invitation.

Woods has 82 PGA Tour victories, including 15 at major events. He has triumphed at the Masters Tournament five times, the last time in 2019.
