Turkey took second place in the Junior European Judo Cup

On the last day of the Junior European Cup, the national judokas finished with 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal. In the country ranking, Turkey took second place with a total of 2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. In the last day’s competitions; women’s 48 kilos Merve Azak, 57 kilos Ayşenur Karadağ and men’s 90 kilos Cem Cet Demirtaş silver; Çağla Serdar won the bronze medal in the women’s category up to 48 kg.

The 48-kilo women’s Merve Azak defeated the Romanian in first medicine and the Czech in the quarterfinals with ippon. Azak defeated the Bulgarian opponent with Waza-ari in the semifinals and faced Sweden’s Tara Babulfath in the final. Merve Azak, who defeated her opponent in the gold medal match with ippon (3 shido), became the weight class gold medal holder.

In 57 kg, Ayşenur Karadağ defeated Kosovo in the first type, Israeli in the second, Greek in the quarterfinals and French in the semifinals with ippons and became a finalist. Montenegro lost in the gold medal match to Kosovar Fationa Kasapi and won the silver medal.

With 90 kilos, Cem Cet Demirtaş passed the first goodbye. In the second variant, the Greeks beat the Kazakhs in the quarterfinals and the English opponents in the semifinals. The judoka lost to Israeli Roy Sivan in the final and stayed on the silver medal.

Çağla Serdar at 48 kilograms beat Czech Tereza Bodnarova with gold in the ippon competition and took 3rd place on the podium.

Sidar Akkuş in 100 kg against Kazakh Zhurkamyrza Shukurbekov in bronze medal match; At +100kg, Tunahan Price lost in the 3rd place match to Frenchman Guylan Alleyne to finish 5th.
