MPSPORTIMAGES — A goal and an assist from Dorlan Pabón, three key saves from goalkeeper Kevin Mier and a sensational second half from Giovanni Moreno left Atlético Nacional the sole and partial leader of the FPC Apertura by beating Independiente Santa Fe 2-1 in a Great match for date 13 from start to finish.
Nacional surpassed Millonarios in the table with one more point (27 against 26), but the Ambassador has his game pending for the day.
Paisa midfielder Pabón became Atlético Nacional’s top scorer in the tournament by adding his fourth goal and third in two consecutive games. Tumaqueño José Ortiz, from Santa Fe, and Andrés Andrade, from Nacional, scored their second goals in the current championship.
The brave Santa Fe came out of the group of eight (9 with 19 points), accumulated eight games and five years without being able to beat the green paisa.
Verdolagas and Cardenales immersed themselves in vibrant 20 minutes where there were two great goals, three saves by the green goalkeeper, Kevin Mier, and a luxurious pass-assist by Dorlan Pabón for the local advantage.
Pabón lit up the grandstand with a kick of more than 25 meters when the Bogota defense loosely enlarged the performer, the side of that area, José Ortiz, allowed himself to be dragged by Yerson Candelo, giving him meters and time for the performer to become the maximum National scorer in the 2022 Apertura. Great goal!
The left back of Santa Fe, Ortiz, took revenge and in a solo incursion with the ball stuck to the foot of the middle of the field, he took a shot to the angle of Mier’s left hand for another great goal.
Santa Fe was able to go up twice before the second of Nacional. First it was Jersson González, who a few meters from the paisa goal, his shot was blocked by Mier and then striker Wilson Morelo from outside the area in execution of a still ball caused Mier to fly.
Pabón’s genius reappeared. Dragging a mark and taking a crawling pass behind the back of the Santa Fe central defender, Kevin Mantilla, allowed a projecting midfielder, Andres “Rifle” Andrade, to avoid Leandro Castellanos to hang the second on the board.
The start of the second half began with controversy. The VAR had to intervene to retract central defender Éder Vergara, who sanctioned a blockade by Nacional defender Juan Cabal as a handball inside the area and a penalty, which had actually hit his face.
Santa Fe did not take his foot off the accelerator and looked for Mier’s goal throughout the second half.
The next date Atlético Nacional will visit Patriotas de Boyacá and Independiente Santa Fe will be local against Unión Magdalena.
