The Naples Basketball signed Lithuanian player Arturas Gudaitis. Today at PalaBarbuto the class of ’93 held the presentation press conference in which he talked about personal and team goals, together with President Federico Grassi and coach Maurizio Buscaglia.
President Grassi: “First of all, I wanted to thank the coach and the sporting director for bringing a player of this quality here to Naples. Then I want to thank our fans who have given us a big hand and now I hope they will continue to support us by filling the entire arena, as there will be 100% capacity. I can start by saying that we will be doing a mini subscription for the next two games. My hope is that some of the fans can follow us also in Treviso which can be a crossroads for salvation“.
Coach Buscaglia: “The thing I want to say about Gudaitis is that he has given great willingness to move here. Living these moments and having great enthusiasm in working on these shots was a great moment. We are focused on the goal: he must be placed in this context and he is a level player. He can help everyone improve. The fans were and are fantastic: I hope they can help us every Sunday ”.
Gudaitis’s lecture
“I want to thank the President and the coach for this opportunity. My biggest motivation is to grow and do better and better. I don’t speak much but I feel very motivated ”.
Physically how are you? “I haven’t played a lot lately but my ankle is fine. I’m training to get better and better and in this moment I feel good ”.
Targets? “My main goal is to bring more and more enthusiasm and help the team to do better and better. I’ve seen the last two matches and I only knew all the guys by sight. Having another Lithuanian in the squad will do me good to fit in better ”.
How is the Italian league? “I know it’s very competitive and physical: you have to have great athleticism to do well here. I must say that it is also similar to where I have played in the past “.
What impact did you have here in Naples? “Difficult to say why I have only recently been here. I had never been to Naples but I have heard a lot about it. At first glance I liked it a lot, just as I also like all of Italy and I liked Milan ”.
How did they convince you to accept Naples? “The coach is decisive and direct and I like that. I can only say good things about him. We have the same ideas and coming here was a great decision. I like the coach and his way of seeing basketball “.
Naples food? “Italy is already in my heart, even if I haven’t been around too much: the food and the people are incredible “.
