Andre Iguodala tackles the front office of the Warriors

In the first part of the season, the Golden State Warriors proved that they had enough to aim for the title while arming themselves for the future. With Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins waiting for Klay Thompson to return, the franchise had the stars it needed to win fast.

Especially since they are surrounded by promising young players to support them. The James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga or Jordan Poole can also be important pieces for years to come.

After a great start to the season, this approach seemed relevant. But since Draymond Green’s injury, the Warriors have frankly marked time. And the construction of the workforce is sometimes the subject of criticism. Including internally.

It is even an emblematic player of the great Warriors period who has gone to the front. With a tackle casually enough on the front office which pays him… Obviously the mix stars / young players, without real solid veterans to help the All-Stars, he does not like it:

“It’s just, you know, it’s a bit of a lack of respect for the previous generation,” Andre Iguodala told The Athletic. “But I also think they’re also not giving the new generation the opportunity to be kids and grow up, putting all that on them. They don’t deserve this. It’s just my point of view. I could be wrong. »

“Lack of respect” is still hard. Indeed, in the current circumstances, a less young workforce would be good. But in full, when Draymond Green was 100% and Stephen Curry didn’t have to take care of almost all of the playmaking, the team was in a good mood, while preparing for its future.

Circumstances made the situation more complicated. Let the young people look like they’re on their own like last night. The team is ultra-dependent on Stephen Curry. And Draymond Green, which takes some of the creative pressure off the chief scorer.

If both aren’t there, and not at their best, yes, the Warriors won’t get far. But it’s the lot of all teams that have to do without players of this caliber. Whether the roster is perfectly constructed or not.
