Four qualified for the National

Valladolid was the city chosen to host the Castilla y León Children and Cadet Championship in which the Kyoto de León and Blume de Ponferrada clubs took part, who had to face the most representative of the rest of the provinces that make up the community in double shift in the morning and afternoon, with the participation of around four hundred wrestlers who were seeking to gain a place in the regional team that will take part in the Spanish Championship, with the two participating clubs from León having an outstanding performance.

Club Blume, directed by Miguel Trejo, obtained the following results:

Marcos Gómez Tapia, in the weight of 66 kilos, was proclaimed champion in the Children’s category; Noa Villaverde Denís, in the weight of +63 kilos, obtained the bronze medal also in the Children’s category, closing the podium Hugo González Gutiérrez, in the weight of 73 kilos, also obtained the title of champion in the Cadet category.

For its part, the Kyoto Club, led by Sara Terán, achieved the following results:

Hugo Fidalgo Diez, weighing +66 kilos, was proclaimed champion in the Children’s category; Daniel Arregui Suárez, weighing 42 kilos, was runner-up in the Children’s category; Alejandro Sotillos López, in the weight of 55 kilos, won the silver medal also in the category, to complete the participation in this category with bronze medals Pablo Fernández Fernández, in the weight of 66 kilos and Jara Álvarez García, in the weight of 52 kilos.

In the Cadet category Francisco González García, in the weight of 66 kilos, was proclaimed champion; Álvaro Cueto Martín was runner-up in the 90-kilogram weight; Sofía Antúnez Varlygina also won the silver medal in the weight of +70 kilos; and Marcos Porrero Curiel, was the bronze medalist in the weight of 55 kilos.

Following these results, at least four Leonese will be present at the final of the Spanish Championship, which will be held at the end of April in Pamplona.
