ATP – Belgrade > Djordje Djokovic, tournament director: “I want to invite Kyrgios to thank him for supporting Novak in Australia”

In an interview with the Serbian daily RepublicDjordje Djokovic, brother of Novak and director of the ATP 250 in Belgrade (April 18-24), said he wanted to invite Nick Kyrgios to the Serbian Open to thank him for his public statements in favor of the number 1 worldwide.

As a reminder, on January 15, when Djokovic is stigmatized by a large part of Australian politicians, Kyrgios wanted to calm things down and defend his Serbian counterpart with strong words. A statement that had surprised many people given that Nick had shown himself on several occasions by openly criticizing the Serb.

Since then, water has flowed its bridges… “I want to invite Nick Kyrgios to Belgrade to thank him for supporting Novak, Belgrade and Serbia. He’s an artist, he doesn’t mince his words and he will always express his opinion, whatever it may be. But above all he is a serious athlete and a tennis player. I hope he comes to the Serbian Open before finishing his career as a tennis player”said Djordje Djokovic who intends to bring the whimsical Australian back to Belgrade at least once.
