Extremely positive regional qualification for the Italian Judo Cup for the colors of Cus Ferrara. On Sunday in Castelmaggiore, out of the 5 athletes brought into the race by the technicians De la Paz and Tieghi, three were granted the pass for the national final scheduled for the weekend of 23-24 April in Rome.
Serena Tisat, on her return after a long absence, perhaps surprisingly wins the 57 kg category, obtaining an incredible pass for the national stage. With her Chiara Colbacchini (cat. 52 kg) who after a streak of successes that open the doors of the final to her, loses the decisive match but flies by right to Rome.
In the men’s final conquered by Nico Volta, who closes in fifth place among the 81 kg, the most numerous category of the event, at the end of a beautiful race. After two matches won, the defeat in the third forced him to the recovery group, where he reached the end grabbing fifth place and with it the ticket to Rome.
Stefano Guerzoni, on the other hand, is not enough for third place in the 90 kg, while after 14 minutes of fighting in perfect equality, Gaiolas Piteira loses at the “golden score” (the first athlete to score a point wins) on a dubious referee decision. Unfortunately, the defeat prevents her from going to the national finals.
