PUNTA CANA, La Altagracia, (EFE).– The American Chad Ramey, who makes his debut this year on the circuit, won his first title on the PGA Tour of golf this Sunday by winning the Corales Punta Cana tournament (Dominican Republic).

Ramey, 29 years old and number 203 in the world at the beginning of the week, won with 271 total strokes (17 under par). He led his compatriots Alex Smaley and Ben Martin by one and Venezuela’s Jhonattan Vegas and Australia’s Cameron Percy by two.

On the final day, Ramey signed a card with six birdies, four of them consecutive between 13 and 16 that placed him in the lead, by only one bogey.

The winner had only one professional title, at the Maine Open, on the Korn Ferry circuit. On the PGA Tour he has played 16 tournaments with it.
