Alexandre Lacazette is about to bounce at Arsenal. Now FC Barcelona could strike if other transfers don’t work.
FC Barcelona apparently have their eye on Alexandre Lacazette in search of attacking reinforcements. This is reported by the Spanish newspaper Sport. Accordingly, the Frenchman is a cheap alternative for the Catalans if the transfers of Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski or Mohamed Salah cannot be realized in the summer.
The 30-year-old Lacazette would be available on a free transfer in the summer, his contract with Arsenal is expiring. So far, both parties have not been able to agree on a continuation of the cooperation.
Barcelona: Lacazette in the footsteps of Aubameyang?
Barca have had good experiences with Gunners players recently, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hit the ground running after his move in winter. The Gabonese has scored nine goals in eleven games so far, including a brace against Real Madrid in the Clasico.
Lacazette, meanwhile, has six goals and eight assists in 29 competitive games this season. However, coach Mikel Arteta does not seem entirely satisfied with the performance of his centre-forward, who has taken over the captaincy after Aubameyang’s departure. Lacazette moved to London from Olympique Lyon in 2017.
