363 athletes will represent UABC at the 2022 Regional Universiade

Mexicali, March 30.- The rector of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC), Dr. Daniel Octavio Valdez Delgadillo, carried out the flag of the Cimarrona Delegation towards its participation in the 2022 Regional Universiade.

The regional was convened by the National Council of Sports Education AC and will take place from March 31 to April 7 this year.

363 athletes will participate in the disciplines of basketball, indoor volleyball, soccer, beach volleyball, archery, softball, association football, handball, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, baseball, tochito, rugby sevens, athletics, chess and 3X3 basketball.

The games will be held in rotating venues: UABC, Campus Tijuana; Technological Institute of Sonora (Itson) and Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS).

Valdez Delgadillo urged the athletes to represent their university with honor. He also congratulated them for managing to combine their academic obligations with some sports discipline.

“Put your best effort, knowing that you have family, friends and university colleagues who will be supporting you from a distance, proud of you in the competition,” said the rector.

For his part, the director of the Faculty of Sports, teacher Emilio Manuel Arrayales Millán, stated that they were already waiting to start face-to-face sports activities. “As good athletes, they remained active throughout this time to be in good shape and to be able to give their maximum representation in the regional games that are yet to come.”

The dates for the UABC will be from March 30 to April 1, where the disciplines of basketball, indoor volleyball, fence soccer, beach volleyball and archery will be played.

From April 2 to 4 it will be at Itson where the softball, association football, handball, taekwondo, tennis and table tennis competitions will take place and from April 5 to 7 the Universiade closes at the UAS with baseball disciplines , tochito, rugby seven, athletics, chess and basketball 3X3.
