French handball players, reigning Olympic champions and fourth in Euro-2022, will face Poland, Latvia and Italy in qualifying for Euro-2024 scheduled in Germany, according to the draw made on Thursday in Berlin .
The French will have to finish in one of the first two places in this group, or finish among the four best third of the eight qualifying groups, to compete in the European Championship from January 10 to 28, 2024.
The qualification phase will take place between mid-October and the end of April 2023.
The Germans, hosts of the competition, the Swedes, defending champions, as well as the Spaniards and the Danes, respectively silver and bronze medalists at Euro-2022, have already qualified for Euro- 2024.
This European championship will qualify for the Paris-2024 Olympic Games, for which the French already have their ticket as hosts.
