Yu Darvish will start for the San Diego Padres on Opening Day of the 2022 MLB season, according to a team announcement.
Japan’s Darvish is one of the most highly regarded pitchers in the National League and it’s no surprise that the Clerics have decided to give him the ball for the first game of the season.
In 9 years in the Major Leagues, Darvish has a 3.56 ERA in 212 starts.

The Padres open the 2022 regular round in the majors as visitors. They will travel to Arizona to meet the Diamondbacks in their first series of the season.
