‘I expect to be a bit better in Ronde van Vlaanderen’
WAREGEM – It rained attacks in the final of Dwars door Vlaanderen, but Mathieu van der Poel always showed the impression that he had everything under control. The 27-year-old phenomenon pounded on his pedals like a madman all day, as a sign that he is feeling good. The fact that after all his efforts he still had a devastating and winning sprint in his legs, is added to the announcement that Van der Poel made, bad news for his rivals. “I didn’t feel great the whole race, and I expect to be a bit better on Sunday in the Tour of Flanders.”
