Moroccan Rachid El Morabity won this Friday (April 1st) for the ninth time the Marathon des Sables, a six-day extreme endurance race in the Moroccan Sahara desert. The 40-year-old runner covered the 230 kilometers in 18 hours 33 minutes, one minute ahead of his ten-year-old brother Mohammed El Morabity. Rachid El Morabity has his sights set on beating the record of victories held by his compatriot Lahcen Ahansal (10).
