Good results that encourage participants

The weekend of March 19 and March 20 was intense for the archers of La Flèche Gasconne. First of all, on Saturday March 19, the Departmental Mixed Trophy was held indoors, organized by the CDTA 32, in Saint-Martin d’Armagnac (32). These are teams made up of 2 competitors from the same club: a woman and a man, regardless of their age in this duo, but necessarily in the same category of weapons.

Throughout this meeting, the teams made the qualifying shots, then passed the duels one after the other to position themselves in a final classification. Three club teams made the trip: 1 in barebow and 2 in recurve. A “recurve bow” team of 2 young archers. Chloé and Dimitri participated in this adventure, giving everything, but not being able to reach the top steps of the podium. The 2nd “recurve bow” team, made up of Emilie and Philippe, managed to move up the rankings after a penultimate place in the qualifications, to finally reach the podium and thus be qualified for the National Mixed Trophy, which will take place on 28 and 29 May in Chennevières sur Marne (94).

The “barebow” team, Karine B. and Christophe G., the only representatives in this category during this Gers competition, was therefore automatically selected, not preventing them from making good volleys.

These two teams have decided, for the greatest pleasure of our club, to participate in the national championship in the Paris region. We are already encouraging them, preparing for their departure in the coming weeks, both in terms of logistics and training to enable them to live this very special experience to the best of their ability.

We wish them today good arrows on these 2 days of competition.

Then, on Sunday March 20, 4 archers went to the town of Daux (31) to take part in a Nature competition organized by the Fonsorbes club. Three places on the podium were won, in their respective age category, Karine B. (S1) finished 1st in hunting bow, Chayan 2nd and Alexandre 3rd, both cadets in Barebow. Christophe G. (S2) was not unworthy, but did not reach the podium, surely a little tired from the day before…

Our Archery Club is proud of its archers engaged in all these competitions, but also to welcome, at the same time, 2 new members in discovery license, already very passionate about our discipline and an archer from Cresse (34) for several weeks in straw law.

La Flèche Gasconne congratulates and thanks its members and their families for the investment in the club and in the participation in competitions by representing our colors and values.
