The Challenge Cup quarter-final between Catalans Dragons and St Helens will be broadcast live on public television.
Big exposure for the quarter-final between the Catalans Dragons and St Helens. Indeed the revenge of the last Super League final will be broadcast by English public television since the BBC will be in Perpignan for the event. But that’s not all since French television will resume broadcasting with France 3 Occitanie which will broadcast the match live. In addition, the club hopes to fill the stadium for this match in order to push behind the Catalan team which has the possibility of progressing to the semi-finals. Christophe Lévy, commercial director of the Catalans Dragons, spoke about this unique exhibition for the club:
This double exposure of two national public channels is an extraordinary opportunity for the Dragons but also a unique window of media coverage for our private partners and especially for our territory. This is the opportunity or never for our City of Perpignan but also all the tourist offices of the Department to promote on a large scale all the tourist assets we have. The English are obviously major tourist consumers in summer and winter alike. We will only hear about “Perpignan” and “Catalans” that day on THE number 1 channel in England, at the best possible time on a Saturday afternoon. I hear that the Occitanie Region wants to position itself as the host land for the next two World Cups at 15 and 13. It’s now or never to let it be known. This is exceptional.
