Juan Carlos Osorio says he has an offer from a national team

Juan Carlos Osorio gave his first interview after leaving América, a team with which he was unable to develop his long-term sports project. In the dialogue with Deportes Sin Tapujos of Cali, the coach spoke of the dream he has of directing again in a World Cup as he already did in Ruia 2018 with the Mexican national team.

“It seems to me that directing a World Cup or a Copa América is an extraordinary opportunity. for any coach-strategist who knows how to select and structure a team to compete. The World Cup was perhaps the most beautiful thing that I have experienced in football and I would love to return”, said Osorio.

Regarding the next step you will take in your career, Osorio said that he already has job offers and that he is analyzing them. One is to direct a selection and the others are for clubs. He ruled out that the selected one is from Conmebol.

“I have not sent the resume to any of them. A selection offered me and a couple of clubs. I am going to sit down with my family to think and discuss what is best for my professional career (…) In fact, it was the first thing they told me, to please keep it a secret. I have kept it a secret for 7 or 10 days. I have been thinking about it because the first thing was to finish my work contract and the second was to think it through and plan it. It’s outside of South America,” she noted.

Osorio and the Colombian National Team

When asked about the dream he has of managing the Colombian National Team, the DT stated that he will not play this issue again in public due to all the controversy it generates, “I promised my family that I would never talk about it again. I am a Colombian, I love my country and I have always defended our football and our footballers”.

The only thing he said about the current National Team is that Reinaldo Rueda is not to blame for the eliminationbelieves that the poor results are associated with other problems that do not belong to the Valle del Cauca coach.

“I think it’s unfair to pass the blame on to him, the responsibility belongs to all of us and I include myself there (…) In a very genuine way, I think it is unfair to pass the responsibility on to professor Reinaldo, Redín, Velasco.”, concluded Osorio.
