The Argentine tennis players had a great performance in the Pereira’s Challenger. For the quarterfinals, Facundo Bagnis (104th), Tomás Etcheverry (108th) and Facundo Mena (181st) took a victory and were among the top four of the Colombian tournament.
The former Top 100 and born in Rosario got rid of local Nicolás Barrientos 6-2 and 6-2 (461st) while later the platense he did the same against the serb Pedja Krstin (332 °) for 6-2 and 7-6 (4).
Then, in the last turn, Mena beat Argentine Juan Pablo Ficovich (217th) 4-6, 7-6 (4) and 6-1. The remaining quota of semis was for Juan Pablo Varillas (119th) who beat another albiceleste: Thiago Tirante (197th). The final score of that match was 6-2, 3-6 and 6-3 for the Peruvian.
In this way the keys are defined with Bagnis against Varillas and Etcheverry against Mena. It should be noted that if he wins, the man from Rosario will return to the Top 100 while if the man from La Plata wins the title, he will enter that lot for the first time in his career.
