The judo delegation from the State of Mexico that will attend the Macroregional towards the Conade 2022 National Games this time is not numerous, but it will be one of the rivals to beat due to the experience and level reached by the athletes.
The team is made up of eight judokas, some with extensive experience such as Aarón Huerta (silver medalist in 2021 category +90 kg) and Roberto Huerta (81 kg), who also represent the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico.
Joel Yaguno and two women who will participate in their first event also stand out in the group, but the preparation has been as expected, so they will be among the rivals to beat in the contest.
For the Macroregional scheduled for April 21 to 23 in Pachuca, Hidalgo, representatives from Guanajuato, Querétaro, Guerrero, Morelos, the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), Tlaxcala, IMSS and the headquarters will also attend.
“Querétaro has high-level athletes, Mexico City, Guanajuato and the venue, who have strengthened their teams thanks to the support and warm-up events, so they are the main rivals, but the State of Mexico, although it arrives with a delegation small has good arguments to fight for the first places”, said Rubén Mora, president of the Judo Association of the State of Mexico.
These states will come with a full car, carrying an average of 32 athletes, another aspect that makes them more dangerous when looking for places in the national phase.
The person in charge of this sport in the entity, highlighted that in the event only the first and second place in each category will qualify for the Conade National Games, so high-level combats are expected.
At the moment, the people of Mexico are working in their respective gyms, such is the case of the representatives of the UAEM, those of San Sebastián and Interlomas, since they have not had the opportunity to meet at events but have reached their best level.
“There are many restrictions regarding the participation of the boys, such as by the General Directorate of Physical Culture and Sports of the State of Mexico, we had an event in Mazatlan, but in the end we no longer participated,” said Rubén Mora.
The venue for judo at the Conade 2022 National Games will be in Hermosillo, Sonora, where the representatives of the State of Mexico will seek an outstanding performance.
