This is Melián’s second experience with a team from the Litoral, since in part of the 2021-2022 season he took charge of the Tiburones de La Guaira, replacing the dismissed Dennis Malavé.

The native of Anzoátegui was manager of Caribes in the 2019-2020 season and had a great performance after qualifying the team for the grand final, which he lost to Cardenales de Lara. That is why they ratified him for the following season, but due to differences between the board he preferred to resign, so the Cuban Mike Álvarez replaced him, leading the tribe to the championship by defeating the crepusculars.

Melián will be accompanied by Luis Oliveros, who will be the bench coach; Oliveros has been by his side since he led Caribes; Tony Armas Jr. will be the pitching coach and Juan Muñoz and Alirio Colmenares will be at third and first, respectively.
