The ABC players completely missed their subject last night, after a nightmarish match for Bastien Versier’s teammates and the ABC public, who came in large numbers. The club was counting on celebrating a thirteenth victory in the league, and had invited the schools of the city on this occasion. Alas, the players of the ABC will have deluded for only fifteen minutes, before collapsing to bow heavily 70-87.
However, the start of the game was promising, the two formations went blow for blow, Auch by Jordan Debrie, Yanis Takerboust then Maxime Coze took the lead, the latter aligning two consecutive missiles, 19-13. And despite two wastes on quick play, Auch took the lead in the first quarter, 21-15.
A successful penetration followed by a superb counter by Yanis Takerboust allows the Auscitains to start the second act in the best possible way. Jérôme Zoé back from injury and Bastien Versier do the job, and the ABC leads 33-24 in the fifteenth minute.
The Landais find their address from afar by Descorps and Monblanc, the improved actions are linked for Horsarrieu who picks up and passes in front in a few possessions, 35-35, then 35-40. Auch no longer scores, and Lucas Monblanc allows the visitors to join the locker room with a comfortable lead of 9 lengths, 35-44, having left no point aside with a 9/9 on free throws.
Having gained confidence in this way, the ASCH players lost no time on the restart to drive home the point by Jeanville then Monblanc, 35-49, then 37-55! The ABC players are unrecognizable, and it’s too much for Jérôme Séailles who cracks and is excluded by two consecutive technical fouls in the 27th minute. Auch is then led 45-70 and will not come back. Horsarrieu did not steal his success in a cool Mathalin room, the last act was anecdotal and Auch lost in the end 70-87 after a very disappointing performance.
