Sarmiento stomped in Salta and beat Gimnasia y Tiro 1-0. At the end of the first half, Gonzalo Cañete scored the only goal of the game. The “dean” avoided a lousy arbitration by Pablo Núñez and is one of the leaders of Federal “A” with a perfect score.
THE MATCH
Good start of Gymnastics and Shooting in the match, displaying football on the wings and winning half of the field. Sarmiento in those first minutes did not have the ball and Cañete had to manage it by virtue of his own and others due to some faults in the local defense. The clearest were for the “albo” Salta with Cortés and one on the line that Lapatina cleared.
As the minutes passed, the “dean” matched the rhythm of the game, although he suffered a lot with the ball stopped. Sagarzazu had a good chance with some defensive oversights by the Salteños, but Sarmiento, in general, had a hard time reaching the goal defended by Silva.
At the end of the first part, Gimnasia y Tiro rushed Fernández’s cast with more wins than clear ideas. He lost presence inside the local area after Cortés left, but he had a corner kick that was dangerous since Lapetina again cleared it on the line.
But before going to the break, Sarmiento would take advantage of a new mistake by the Salta defense after the ball from the bottom, who lowered it was Brito, and Gonzalo Cañete beat the defenders in position and with a subtle touch he defined over Silva to score the 1 to 0 at the end of the first half.
In the complement Sarmiento was more entrenched, especially in defense and with Cañete exceeded in confidence that quickly generated two scoring chances. The first was intercepted by Vera and the second was stuck to Silva’s post. Gimnasia y Tiro was already more cautious in his offensive ideas and allowed the “dean” to have spaces.
The referee from San Juan Núñez played his role in the game, charging even non-existent fouls in favor of the Salteños and tilting the field, for which, in the face of Fernández’s protest, he expelled the “dean” coach.
The team from Chaco was more intelligent in the complement and the changes favored the role they assumed, which was to defend far from Miter’s goal and quickly come out on the counterattack. Sarmiento suffered until the end but was able to cling to the victory and ended up staying with the game and facing a disastrous arbitration. Fernández’s team is one of the leaders in the North Zone with an ideal score.
