Badminton: young Neuchâtel residents reign over doubles in Vevey

The next generation of Neuchâtel badminton continues to impress. During the Vevey juniors cup, a national competition, the players from BC La Chaux-de-Fonds (BCC) and BC Neuchâtel (BCN) achieved a real harvest.

In a tournament reserved for doubles events, Gitika Venkatasubbaiah (BCC) confirmed her lead time by easily winning the women’s under-13 doubles with her German-speaking partner Julietta Dübendorfer. Also promising, little sister Lolita came third in the same category with Bern’s Julia Sandra Schneeberger.

In the under-15s, BCN pair Sofia Uvarova and Nicolas Briancourt won the mixed event without dropping a set. In men’s doubles, Nicolas Briancourt took silver. Célia Cortat and Waïra Delgadillo, both from the BCC, climbed to the third step of the podium in women’s doubles.

In Vaud, Chaux-de-Fonniers also shone in the higher categories. Naya Cortat (U17), Ilena Raminhos (U17), Elia Jeanfavre (U19), Aylin Raminhos (U19), Pierre Maître (U19) and Loïc Schneider (U19) completed the good overall result and also got on the box . / FCH
