Almansa, Albacete, La Roda and Aguas Nuevas hosted the different competitions of the weekend – Albacete News

The activities of the 2021/2022 School Sports Calendar organized by the Provincial Council of Albacete, under the agreement signed with the General Directorate of Sports of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, experienced a new day last weekend.

In some intense days, the swimming modalities were developed in Almansa, Albacete and La Roda, rhythmic gymnastics in Almansa, duathlon also in the city of Almansa, athletics in Albacete and badminton in Aguas Nuevas.

Swimming had a new appointment over the weekend, with the tests held at the Almansa, Albacete and La Roda venues, organized thanks to the collaboration of the Castilla-La Mancha Swimming Federation, with the support of the different municipalities.

About 400 participants gathered on this fifth day of the competition, in which two minimum marks were achieved for the Spanish Swimming Championship in the children’s category. Paula Martínez, from the Albacete Swimming Club, achieved the minimum in 800 free meters. The place in the National was also secured by the 4×100 styles relay of the Albacete Swimming Club, made up of Paula Martínez, Ángela Sánchez, Zoe Hernández and Isabel Smith.

Two swimmers stayed very close to obtaining the minimum required marks, which everything indicates that they could achieve it in the next appointments. They are Antonio López, from CN Almansa, in 200 styles, and Ángela Sánchez, from CN Albacete, in 100 butterfly.

Rhythmic gymnastics and duathlon in Almansa

Almansa hosted the first round of the Provincial Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, organized thanks to the collaboration of the Gymnastics Federation of Castilla-La Mancha and with the support of the Almansa City Council, in which 200 schoolchildren participated.

In juvenile, hoop mode, the podium was made up of Club Palas EC Competición, Inb2 Don’t Star Now and Pozohondo. In children, pelota mode, Almansa won, ahead of Club Palas EC Competición and Villarrobledo. In cadets, rope modality, Almansa prevailed and second was Villarrobledo. And in senior the podium was Club Palas CD1, Club Palas CD2 and Socuéllamos.

A Duathlon Championship test was also held in Almansa, with more than 180 schoolchildren, to which must be added the more than 100 participants registered in the adult test, on a cold, although sunny, morning.

Badminton in Aguas Nuevas

Aguas Nuevas hosted a new test of the Badminton Championship, organized thanks to the collaboration of the Castilla-La Mancha Badminton Federation and with the support of the City Council of that town. 92 players from Albacete, Hellín, El Bonillo, Higueruela, Yeste, Ontur, Alpera, Lezuza and Aguas Nuevas participated in this event.

In the female Sub15, Lucía Marqueño (Albarena) won, ahead of Cati Tolsada (Higueruela). In the male category Manuel Flores (El Bonillo) was the winner, and Pedro Tortosa (Higueruela) the second. In the female U17 category, Amparo Gómez (Aguas Nuevas) won and Ana Cava (Albacete) was second. Antonio Miguel Hernández and Pascual Gómez, both from Aguas Nuevas, were first and second, respectively, in the men’s category. In the female U19 category, Alba Luna González (Aguas Nuevas) won, ahead of Amelia Tolsada (Higueruela). In boys Alejandro Manjabacas (Aguas Nuevas) won and Marcos Pérez (Aguas Nuevas) was second.

Athletics in Albacete

Athletics was the other modality disputed during the weekend, at the Albacete Athletics Tracks, in a test organized thanks to the collaboration of the Castilla-La Mancha Athletics Federation and the Albacete City Council, through the Municipal Institute sports. In this event, both in the male and female categories, modalities such as 80 meter dash, 200 meter, 600 meter, 1,000 meter, 5,000 meter, 80 meter hurdles, 100 meter hurdles, 110 meter hurdles, 5×80 relay, 4×100 relay, 2,000 meters were held. meters walk, high jump, long jump, weight, discus and javelin.
