The Dojo Hugo Jara, from Posadas, achieved an outstanding feat by bringing to Argentina the Challenger Cup of the National Judo, from Paraguay, which took place in the gym of the Olympic Committee located in Asunción and also had the presence of more than 200 competitors from both countries.
There, the delegation of the red land raised the colors “light blue and white”, thanks to an outstanding performance that led them to add several podiums and medals, so that in the end they keep the highest prize at stake in said contest, the main one in the neighboring country.
One of the outstanding athletes of the Posada delegation on Paraguayan soil was Constanza Núñez who was crowned champion in four different categories and in one of them she beat the Argentinian Paloma Narvaez, who competes for Paraguay at an international level, with a tremendous ippon.
The gold medals achieved by Constanza were in: cadets – 57 kilos; Junior – 57 kilos; Graduated Kiu – 57 kilos and Senior – 57 kilos.
But the achievements of the Dojo located in Villa Cabello, were not only those achieved by the judoka Núñez; Pablo Segovia was champion in the children’s category A + of 52 kilos; Rocío Lezcano was the best in Kius Female Novice + 78 kilos; David Sanabria was champion in Cadets – 60 kilos and silver medal in Kiu Graduated – 60 kilos; Tobías Meza was the best in graduated Kiu – 60 kilos and he got the bronze in Junior – 60 kilos and in Senior – 60 kilos. While Fernando Marchesini was third in the men’s Kiu Novice – 81 kilos.
Upon returning from Asunción, Professor Hugo Jara pointed out that “an excellent job was carried out as a result of the sacrifice, work and commitment of the students, as well as the parents and all the teachers of the Dojo who allowed this outstanding achievement to crystallize.”
“Bringing the Challenger Cup to Misiones and leaving Argentina at the top, outside our soil, is something exciting and at the same time it fills you with pride”, Jara remarked.
It is worth noting that this competition had dojos, academies, schools and institutes from different parts of Paraguay, as well as from the Argentine provinces of Formosa and Misiones.
