The Professional Basketball League in Colombia begins, from now on, to finalize the details for the start of the first semester of 2022. However, the first news was not positive.
And it is that, this Monday, the organization of the competition reported through its platforms, that three franchises will not be part of the next edition of the tournament, including the last runner-up of the contest, the Cimarrones del Chocó.
“The Professional Basketball Division of Colombia informs Colombian basketball lovers that the Cimarrones del Chocó, Cóndores de Cundinamarca and Piratas de Bogotá clubs expressed this weekend through formal letters addressed to the Colombian Basketball Federation and the Professional Basketball Division, their non-participation in the 2022-I Professional Basketball League, due to internal problems in their respective clubs,” the League reported.
It should be remembered that the Chocoanos recently reached the final of the tournament, in which they lost to Titanes de Barranquilla, in the fifth game of the series.
Which teams will play in the 2022-I Professional Basketball League?
Thus, only seven teams will fight for the title that the Titans have obtained in recent seasons. Tigrillos from Antioquia, Caribbean Strom from San Andrés, Team Cali, Corsarios from Cartagena, Búcaros from Bucaramanga and Cafeteros from Armenia, will be present.
