Giusi de Angelis

The “Scuola Attiva” project has entered full capacity. Wanted by Sport and Health, the project was created to allow the development of physical activity and sporting activity within primary school (with Scuola Attiva Kids) and in lower secondary school (with Scuola Attiva Junior).

the numbers

There are many innovative elements of Scuola Attiva Kids that have allowed such an important adhesion to the project: from the enhancement of active time for children to motor orientation, from involvement to the strengthening of the role of Tutors. Just think that the number of pupils who have joined is equal to 50% of the total number of pupils in primary school, 1,270,000 out of 2,593,000, and with the involvement of 63,000 teachers, about 3,000 tutors and 30 Sports Federations.

phytarch

Fitarco has joined both the Active Kids School and the Junior Active School. For the first, he is developing a game and motor activity project adapted by the tutors who followed the training webinar. As for the Junior Active School, on the other hand, the activity takes place in two regions with membership of 7 institutes for a total of 2000 children in Emilia Romagna and 9 schools and 2450 pupils in Puglia. Archery will also be accompanied by another sporting activity which will be alternated: from mid-January to mid-March and from mid-March to mid-June.

the role of tutors

The Fitarco technicians have already started the activity in the gyms and in the structures of the school complexes during the curricular hours and great satisfaction has been expressed by the teachers and young people who participate. The attraction towards archery grows more and more. We start from the game and then try to lead it to become a sport. And to do this, the role of the tutor is fundamental: “The trainer’s ability to involve tutors is fundamental for the success of these projects – Alessandro Lupi tells us -. In this specific case, not being able to use a bow and arrow, they find themselves having to use the game as a means to introduce the basics of our discipline to the children of the fourth and fifth primary school. The task of the trainer therefore becomes to be able to transfer the power and versatility of the game seen as a means to transmit and develop the motor assumptions of archery”.

the cards

“In order to enable the tutors to carry out the lessons effectively, on the recommendation of Sport and Health, game presentation cards were developed to develop the motor prerequisites of archery, without the use of specific equipment – he adds. Wolves – In drafting them, it was taken into account to implement the adaptation of the games to children with disabilities (motor, deaf, visually impaired, blind and intellectual relational) “.

the other speakers

Trainers also followed one another with Lupi: Chiara Barbi, physiotherapist and international classifier Para Archery and Alessandro Bonanni, Professor of Motor Sciences and Fitarco collaborator. Together they developed the topics covered in the training course for tutors with a precise order: archery, Para Archery and the game board, contributing to the training of 68 tutors throughout Italy.

for teachers

A parallel training course is also foreseen for school teachers managed by the National Commission of Sport and Health. In short, an important passage for sport that finally enters the school from the main entrance during the hours dedicated to sport in school hours and to motor-sport orientation activities.

the objectives

Through the Active Kids School and the Active Junior School, sport becomes an integral part of the education of all students, a great added value for the training of young people from primary school, an educational and growth importance.
