Tennis: beaten, a young French hopeful slaps his opponent

His gesture of humor, the reason for which remains unknown for the moment, did not go unnoticed. And he is a stain in the world of tennis as in that of sport in general. Beaten by a Ghanaian player a year older than him, but supposedly weaker, the young Frenchman Michael Kouame, 15, slapped his opponent at the end of the match.

Seeded number 1 in an international junior tournament played on Monday in Accra, Ghana, the 589th player in the ITF Junior rankings completely lost his nerves after a match lost in three sets in the decisive game (2-6, 7 -6, 6-7). When his opponent, Raphael Nii Ankrah (ranked 1688th in the world among juniors), came to meet him at the net to shake his hand, the young Habs slapped him. This did not fail to make people present around the court react strongly, who quickly sought to attack him physically.

Originally from Sarcelles (Val-d’Oise) and a promising young Frenchman, Michael Kouame was spotted very early on by the League of the Ile-de-France department. As his Instagram account indicates, he is part of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga’s “All-In Academy”, a very high-level training and training center located in the Lyon suburbs.
