After bankruptcy in Berlin: fan appeal to the stars of 1. FC Magdeburg – 3rd division

1. FC Magdeburg is still in good shape with an eight-point lead on relegation place three. But the emphasis is on STILL! Because the trend is worrying after the last four winless games.

After the 2-1 draw at Viktoria Berlin, the 2,800 or so fans who had traveled with them sounded the alarm and spoke to the players’ consciences.

Veteran Alexander Bittroff (33) reveals: “They cheered us up, said that they are back now, that they support us, that we are pulling together and going full throttle together.

FAN-APELL AN DIE FCM-STARS!

Striker Kai Brünker (27) adds: “It was also said that the coat of arms is sacred for you – and we want to represent that in the last few games, that we fight for the coat of arms and give it our all.”

The first opportunity to do so is Saturday (2 p.m.) against Viktoria Köln. At the first third division home game without spectator restrictions in almost two years, the players can look forward to a spectacle from the stands.

At least Brünker is aware that they themselves have a duty to do so. The attacker emphasizes: “Of course we owe them the next game that we win that. Nothing stands in the way of us ducking our heads. We go in there with confidence.”

The conversation with the fans – more encouragement than rapport. Coach Christian Titz (50) also likes it. He explains: “That is also very important. Because we lost an away game, but we’re still in a good starting position. It means keeping calm together.”
