The Rando Challenge returns to Beynes

On May 1, the Rando Challenge Île-de-France returns to Beynes (Yvelines) after two editions canceled due to Covid-19. Two courses are planned to satisfy young and old.

After seeing the 2020 and 2021 editions canceled due to the health crisis, the Rando Challenge Île-de-France is back in Beynes (Yvelines) for an 8th edition. This hike aims to be fun, sporty and cultural at the same time. In teams of 2 to 4 (maximum 5 for discovery), walkers must answer questions (MCQ type) throughout the course on heritage, flora, fauna, history or observation.

The race is organized by the Regional Committee for Hiking in Île-de-France, with the support of its partners as well as the local club of Beynes “Balade et Randonnée”. This hike can be done with friends or family. Experienced hikers or beginners, the most important thing during the Rando Challenge Île-de-France in Beynes is to have fun while discovering a magnificent setting.

Two races possible

Two routes are possible during the event. The first course is a discovery race of 10 to 12 km and accessible to all. It can be done in a team of 2 to 4 people, the route will be drawn on the map. The second route is a little longer and more complex. Named Competition, it is estimated between 16 and 20 kilometers. It is part of the French club championships.

These two routes offer the leisure to explore Beynes through its history and its heritage made up of a medieval castle, an aqueduct, a church but also a forest as well as the Mauldre valley. In addition, for this challenge, a compass, a mobile phone (for safety), a first aid kit and a curvimeter or a double decimeter to calculate the length of the course are strongly required.
