Judo returned to compete in Comodoro
Comodorense judo returned to the ring in 2022 with great enthusiasm and motivation, and as part of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Gesta de Malvinas, the “Heroes de Malvinas” Cup was held, with the organization of the Aiken Judo School (Instructor Emiliano Sillero), under the auspices of the Comodoro Sports Autarchic Entity and the General Directorate of Municipal Sports.

De Judo Aiken, organizer) and with them the president and treasurer of the Union of Veterans, Roberto Barrientos and Paulo Mantello, who received recognition from the organization of the tournament, as well as from Dojo Marcos Garnica (Municipal No. 1).
“It is a joy to be able to meet again in this tournament after so long,” commented Marcelo Mamani, a referent of the activity, while Emiliano Sillero, organizer of the event, expressed: “Thank you for being, to all those who commit one Sunday to be presents. Nothing more beautiful than opening the sports calendar with a tribute to the 40 years of our Falklands heroes. We look forward to a great event.”
Meanwhile, Roberto Barrientos, president of the Union of Ex-combatants (Com. Riv.) thanked the organization for the invitation and pointed out: «In these days we have fulfilled all the commemorative activities of April 2, and for us it is a pride that consider us, with this recognition. We appreciate it, it is a caress to the soul, as we always say. It is the memory of all those who went to fight for our country and the permanent memory of our comrades who remained there, as sentinels of our Malvinas Islands. On behalf of all of them, of those who stayed there and those of us who were lucky enough to return, our eternal gratitude for these recognitions to all the citizens of Comodoro Rivadavia. Thank you very much and sport is health.
For his part, Miguel Sosa, president of the Chubutense Federation, expressed: “It is a happiness to see you all after two years of the pandemic. A special thanks to the Malvinas veterans who are with us at this time and risked their lives, like those who remained there 40 years ago. I congratulate Emiliano Sillero for the impeccable organization, Hugo Arismendi for the clinic on Saturday, and all those who worked on it. I wish you a fabulous tournament, and that from now on we will put the activity back on its feet.
