BIG RIVER.- For the first time, a Provincial Concentration of Badminton under 17 (15, 16 and 17 years old) will be held in the province. The event will take place on Sunday, April 10, starting at 10:00.
In dialogue with this medium, Cristina Bustos, provincial director of Conventional Sports in the central zone, explained that this is the first provincial concentration of Badminton that aims to take the first steps in the formation of a team with a view to the Patagonian Integration Games that they will take place in September in La Pampa. “Since this discipline has recently been incorporated into the Patagonian Integration Games, Tierra del Fuego is looking for those who practice this sport to begin the pre-selection process with the aim of forming a team that will then represent the province in the tournament that will take place in September in La Pampa”.
Activity
Regarding this first concentration, only 30 of the best players that exist in the province that were already selected in the respective cities will participate.
This time there will be two shifts where the boys will be able to do physical training, together with a nutritionist who will give a talk to those present and, in addition, they will be given a clinic in which all the technical part of the discipline will be detailed.
The concentration implies “another level of stimulation, since it has another type of work and specialists intervene. In this case there will be a Psychologist, a Nutritionist, physical trainers from the CePAR (High Performance Provincial Center) and it has a broader level of preparation than a simple meeting of athletes”, Bustos explained.
The truth is that the Badminton players will participate in this first provincial concentration that will start at 10:00 and will last throughout the day. Meanwhile, it is expected that, around 6:00 p.m., an internal tournament will be held among all the participants.

It is highlighted that all the concentrations are in charge of Pablo Pereira who is the director of Selections of the Province and is the one who monitors each one of this type of activities.
badminton
It is a racket sport in which two players (individuals) or two pairs (doubles) face each other, located on opposite halves of a rectangular track divided by a net.
Unlike other racket sports, badminton is not played with a ball, but with a shuttlecock.
Players must hit the shuttlecock with their rackets so that it crosses the track over the net and falls into the opponent’s sector. The point ends when the shuttle hits the ground, after going over the net.
It is an Olympic sport that can have five modalities that are men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles. In the latter, the couple is made up of a man and a woman.
On this occasion, the Patagonian Games will only be played in two modalities that will be individual or singles and it will also be possible to participate in a pair (female-male).
