Sport in France, the sports movement channel, and the French Basketball Federation concluded a partnership on Monday for the media coverage of the Women’s Basketball League (LFB). The play-off matches will be broadcast free of charge, on the channel, the application and the website of Sport in France.
After the broadcast of the Betclic Elite and the women’s Eurocup final between Bourges and Venice last week, Sports in France asserts itself a little more like the French basketball channel, with the announcement this Thursday of the broadcast of all the matches of the Women’s League play-offs. This agreement between the sports movement channel and the French Basketball Federation includes the production and live broadcast of the play-offs from May 7, 2022 (and until June 9 if the final goes to Match 5). In addition, Sports in France will produce three specials
around these play-offs. The play-off matches will be broadcast free of charge live on the TV channel of Sports in France as well as on the mobile application and the channel’s website.
“The French women’s championship is of a super level”
“This is the first time that fans will be able to follow so many matches of the Women’s Basketball League for free,” rejoices Romain Schindler, deputy director of Sports in France. Four days after the tremendous victory live on our Bourges channel in the Eurocup, we are delighted with this important agreement for the visibility of basketball in general and women’s basketball in particular. Beyond a simple production and distribution agreement, we have found with the FFBB, its president Jean-Pierre Siutat and the LFB, its president Carole Force, partners and the same philosophy and desire to exhibit to the greatest number playing basketball. The French women’s championship is at a super level and we can’t wait to offer them to the fans. Women’s basketball (EuroCup Final, Match of Champions, French Team) has always had good audiences and we are convinced that there is a great story to write at the end of the season. We will be on site and will be keen to bring these play-offs to life as it should be”.
Two more tickets for the play-offs to deliver
“The Women’s League play-offs will have exceptional visibility this season on a free channel and I am delighted about it, reacted Carole Force, president of the LFB. I would therefore like to thank the CNOSF, the ANS, Sport en France and the French Basketball Federation for all the work done to achieve such media coverage of our discipline. It is a just reward for the efforts made by the 12 clubs and the FFBB to structure and develop the Women’s League. You will have the opportunity to see next May, on Sport in France, the female elite of French basketball who will compete for the title. In view of the regular season which is slowly coming to an end, these LFB play-offs promise to be intense and contested between the 8 best teams in the championship. There are still three LFB regular season days left to play, and Bourges, Lyon-ASVEL, Basket Landes, Villeneuve d’Ascq, Charleville-Mézières and Roche Vendée already have their ticket.
