The TSB Ravensburg judoka started the Baden-Württemberg league with two 4:3 victories against JV Nürtingen and TV Heitersheim. The Upper Swabians lost 3:4 to BC Offenburg. Since JV Nürtingen won 4:3 against BC Offenburg, the Ravensburgers still have the chance to place high in the final table on May 14th on the last day of fighting in Offenburg.
The Württemberg duel against JV Nürtingen began with a shock for the TSB judoka. The most successful TSB judoka Elis Bonitz, who has moved up to the weight class up to 90 kilograms, injured himself and lost surprisingly. After that, however, things went like clockwork for the Ravensburger fighters. Christian Vögele (over 100 kilograms), Julian Müller (up to 81 kilograms), Elias Kühn (up to 66 kilograms) and Robin Weiler (up to 100 kilograms) clinched four early wins and thus ensured the preliminary decision. Niklas Böhm (up to 73 kilograms), who moved up a weight class, and 17-year-old Arne Böhm (up to 60 kilograms) both lost shortly before the end of the fight.
Julian Müller, Elias Kühn and Arne Böhm scored the points for the TSB against the previous leaders BC Offenburg. The Ravensburgers could not assert themselves in the other encounters, so that the Badeners successfully went off the mat with 4:3.
Against TV Heitersheim, which according to the announcement, like BC Offenburg, was partly peppered with Bundesliga athletes, it was again necessary to compensate for the loss of Elis Bonitz and to counter the Baden top performers with the right athletes. TSB trainer Uli Rothenhäusler used three athletes one weight class higher, won the line-up poker and his athletes the necessary four individual fights. Robin Weiler defeated Heavyweight Marvin Manthey after a successful transition from standing to floor using a choke technique. With Lucas Steinebrunner, Julian Müller also defeated his third opponent on this day of competition. Elias Kühn and Niklas Böhm fought for points three and four to a 4:3 victory.
