The month of March, which marked the start of training at the FC Porto Football Sciences Institute, was marked by the record number of applications and registrations, as well as the first moments of knowledge sharing in technical, administrative and operational areas of FC Porto.

The success in the search is justified by the excellence of the syllabus explored, as well as by the commitment to competent and credible professionals, who transport the FC Porto universe to training courses and, thus, enrich the sharing of knowledge, with the know-how that demands of a professional from a winning club.

From a technical point of view, the training sessions began with “Analysis of Players”, and included the coordinator of each of the first three levels of scout at FC Porto: Rui Oliveira, Augusto Roxo and José Perfeito. In these sessions, it was presented how an FC Porto scout works, what are the principles of analysis, how the club’s scout network works and also what each scout level is based on in the search for new talents.

Another of the training moments was “Building the Game Model”, which had two trainers. The coordinator of the technical training of Dragon Force coaches, André Teixeira, presented the concepts of idea and game model. The coach of FC Porto’s Under-15s, Nuno Pimentel, improved the idea of ​​the importance of training so that each one’s game idea becomes a successful game model and as complete as possible.

From an operational point of view, the model training started with “Management and Organization of Sports Events”, with Pedro Santos, from the area of ​​planning and external relations of professional teams, and Maria Teixeira, operational manager of the FC Porto Football Sciences Institute. These interventions conveyed how the planning and organization of sporting events is carried out, from games to events, training and other activities related to the club.

The training action “Sustainability & Facility Management” was attended by the person responsible for sustainability, Teresa Santos, and the infrastructure manager, Ricardo Carvalho, who addressed the activities and measures that the club promotes in order to always consider sustainability in its activities. actions and principles underlying the management of the club’s various sports facilities.

Afterwards, the “Management of a Scouting Department” was presented by Nelson Oliveira, chief scout of FC Porto and Ana Moreira, of the management and planning of the scouting of FC Porto, where they explained how the department is organized and how the its management in the detection and retention of talent in FC Porto’s training schools.

In the legal sphere, the training on “Management of a Legal Department” was attended by trainers Nuno Santos Rocha and Hugo Silva Nunes, from the Legal Department of FC Porto, who explained how the department is organized, what are its areas of intervention and respective responsibilities, delving deeper into topics such as regulations, contracts and image rights.

In the “Commercial Management” modular training, the commercial director, José Pedro Dias, presented the structure of the commercial area and explored topics such as advertising, corporate services and actions on match days.

Finally, in the “Sports Management and Leadership” training, Fernando Gomes was present, who shared how he was facing different types of leadership, and shaping his own, from the times when he was captain of the club, to the present day, when is director of training and scouting for FC Porto. Ângelo Santos, Coordinator of the Psychology and Pedagogy Department of Grassroots Football, also gave his contribution on the principles of leadership, elucidating the FC Porto context with practical examples.
